JAMMU RAJOURI,
Six people were critically injured in a tragic road accident involving an Eco van in the Kandi area of Kotranka on Sunday.
Soon after the accident, local residents displayed commendable courage and promptly shifted the injured to Sub District Hospital, Kotranka, for medical treatment.
The condition of the injured was reported to be critical.
The accident has once again highlighted the need to strengthen healthcare facilities in the difficult and hilly terrain of Kotranka and its adjoining areas.
Residents have urged the government to upgrade Sub District Hospital Kotranka to an Associated Hospital of a Government Medical College so that people can access advanced medical facilities closer to home.
They said that incidents such as the Badhal crisis, Mohra and Dhar Sakri incidents, besides frequent road accidents, underline the urgent need for better emergency and specialised healthcare facilities in the region.
Locals appealed to the government to make strengthening healthcare infrastructure in Kotranka a top priority to ensure timely treatment and save precious lives.
